Village Restaurant - Daliat-El-Carmel
As you may see from the picture, there are all these sides that accompany the meal. I do not remember which came with the hummus and which we ordered separately. Whichever way it went this was very, very tasty. There are some eggplant dips, hot pepper sauce, a great Israeli style salad, falafel balls and stuffed grape leaves. Everything was excellent, as was the service. I used to visit Daliat-el-Carmel a lot when I lived in Israel. Somehow It is a Druse village, very popular with tourists, foreign and domestic. Somehow, I always ended up in the touristy parts. This time, after having traveled a lot more, I had figured out some things about what I want to experience. It is the less touristy parts of anyplace. This time in Dalia as the locals call it, I found an amazing restaurant, in addition to karaoke-ing with one of the locals shopkeepers who was testing a new system. When around Haifa, make it a point to visit here and look for the less traveled paths. In one of the tourist 'traps' I was later treated to a strong cup of Arab coffee and convinced to purchase a darbooka. Not difficult sell, I am a sucker for rmusical instruments and my wife's complaints fell on deaf ears when I heard the bottom line price.
